- Located between two multi-billion pound Copper deposits: The past-producing Anaconda Yerington mine and the developing Ann Mason Deposit with a recent reported resource estimate of eight billion pounds
- Multiple sub-parallel zones of copper-skarn mineralization hosted in a 400 ft thick limestone thrust block
The Satellite copper prospect consists of 25 patented mining claims in the Singatse Range west of Yerington, Nevada, which is the site of Anaconda’s Yerington open pit porphyry copper mine. Detailed mapping has yet to be carried out, but a casual inspection demonstrates that there has been in excess of 1,000 feet of horizontal development with stoping (vertical mining) having been carried out over a vertical interval of +200 feet.
The host rock in the area of the Satellite claims is a limestone – andesite contact which has been crosscut by quartz monzonite porphyry dikes.
It is these late dike swarms that are the heat engines that cause the emplacement of copper mineralization as either Skarn or disseminated Porphyry style mineralization.
